There are only 15 dance slots available due to Covid restrictions, so call Heights to see if space is available and register ahead of time, if there is room.

There are a few classes opening up in the Metroplex.

Frances Halvorson is teaching at Heights Recreation Center.

She is teaching a beginner class on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 11:15 am.  
She is also teaching an improver class on Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Juliet Lam is teaching an Improver class at Huffhines Recreation Center in Richardson on Tuesdays from 11:00 am-12:15pm.

Ann Pettit is teaching an Intermediate/ Advanced class at Heights Rec. Center on Mondays and every other Friday. For further information contact Ann Pettit or call Heights Recreation Center in Richardson.

Karen Aubrey is teaching an Intermediate/ Advanced class on Wednesdays from 1:30-3:00 pm. at Heights Recreation Center.

Yvonne Yeh is teaching three classes at Tom Muehlenbeck Center beginning in October. The schedule and dance level will be changed as follows:

1 – Fri 5:00 pm to 7:30 – improver

2 – Sat 1:15 pm to 4:45 pm – Int to Adv

3 – Sun 1:15 pm to 4:45 pm – int to Adv

Nikki Simpson’s classes in Allen are all virtual. People can sign up through the Allen Senior Rec Center.


Kickin’ Country in Mineola has been cancelled for this year.

Yellow Rose of Texas Line Dance Extravaganza! Update

We are still hoping to hold our event in New Braunfels in February and with that in mind we are going to continue as if it will happen. Some people are holding off to see what will happen with the pandemic and may be planning to wait until the last minute before registering. We would like to encourage you to go ahead and register if you plan to attend so that we can plan for the event.

Dance Parties 


We kick off the event Thursday evening (4/22) with registration at 6pm and open dance at 7pm in the Trinity Ballroom (all levels). After that, on both Friday and Saturday nights, open dance parties are held in the Trinity for upper levels and in the Oak Ballroom for beginners. 

Saturday Night Dinner Show

Our Saturday night dinner shows are one of a kind and full of laughs! This one should be no exception. The theme is 🌶🌯Tex/Mex so grab your sombreros, ponchos, maracas, serapes, margaritas, etc. and head SOUTH.


Workshops are scheduled for all day every hour Friday–Sunday. (This year we plan to break for lunch on Friday and Saturday.) The Oak Ballroom is a dedicated beginner ballroom where all day workshops are held for beginner levels. To give our attendees and instructors time to travel home workshops will end by 2pm on Sunday

This year will be the 🎆4th🎉annual H.O.T. Heart of Texas Event. and we are grateful to the line dance community for helping us succeed and grow. We had record attendance in March 2020 (even with the approaching onslaught of covid 19) along with excellent instructors who introduced 34 brand new dances plus several innovative technique classes!!! We hope to surpass those numbers in 2021!!! 

We hope to see you at H.O.T. Heart of Texas next year. Viva 2021!!!
